INK (The Interactive Neighborhood for Kids) needs our help

Spreading the kindness

By by: Allie Pletcher September 11, 2018

Macaroni Kid every year does Macaroni Kid Act of Kindness Day (MK-AOK) where all the Publishers all over give back to their community in some way. This year MK-AOK is September 15th and it is an amazing opportunity to be able to support, show your kids how to be kind and give back and show an act of kindness back as well.

I was sitting down on my couch at night relaxing for a bit before bed and was scrolling through Facebook to catch up. I came upon a message on the Gainesville Police Department page. On September 9th, INK (The Interactive Neighborhood for Kids) in Gainesville was hit with a massive flood caused by a small fire setting off the sprinkler system. Luckily no one was hurt but a lot of damage was caused by this incident. This broke my heart to hear because this Museum has made a huge impact on many kids and in the community.

INK (The Interactive Neighborhood for Kids) is a nonprofit children's museum located in Gainesville, GA. The mission of INK is to encourage children of all ages to develop their full potential through exciting hands-on learning. INK strives, through the exhibits of our Museum, to create a unique environment in which children of all ages, abilities and experiences can feel free to imagine, create and explore beyond their dreams. We are a one-of-a-kind museum, serving hundreds of thousands of families, all the while celebrating childhood, family and community."

Macaroni Kid Act of Kindness came in my head so I reached out to see what I can do to help them out. They responded with a need of either gift cards or monetary donations to help them. So I went and created a Go-fund me directly for INK account and made sure the community knew about it. Spread the word and the Kindness on September 15th and remember kindness isn't just a one day thing, it is a everyday act that is great to spread around.

Please help donate as much as you can so when they start to do the recovery they can replace things.
