Older kiddos in the house need something to occupy their time? I've looked into local venues that attract our preteens and teenagers. These activities range from free to $20 per person and are all local to Gainesville. Whether your child is in need of a good hang out spot or wants to get active, I would recommend looking further into these options.
FREE Fun
Gainesville Skate Park

Although our skate park is fairly new (opened summer 2020) it took no time at all to gain popularity among many local citizens. Park hours can vary seasonally as it opens at 7:00am and closes at dusk.

Our local library system offers a variety of events for all age groups. Events vary from themed clubs to "teen nights" as well as some volunteer opportunities available for our youth. Check out the calendar for these upcoming events:

Fishing at Don Carter State Park

If you're looking for an organized venue to go fishing then test your skills at Don Carter State Park. You can take advantage of the Fishing Tackle Loaner Program in which The Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) of Georgia DNR will provide all the necessary equipment to check out without needing to purchase or bring your own. Don't forget to register for a fishing license for ages 16 and up.
*$5 parking fee required for Park admission

Who doesn't love to hit the skating rink for fun? Skate Country offers special pricing pending the day and time of your visit.
Get Air

Join "Club Air" on Friday & Saturday nights from 7:00-10:00pm. A night of jumping and games geared towards ages 9 and up. Cost is either $15 for 2hours or $20 for the full 3 hour event.
